The Garden Office Climate Challenge
Standard timber outbuildings, even when insulated with 100mm PIR boards, have low thermal mass. When direct sunlight hits south or west-facing double glazing, indoor temperatures regularly exceed 32°C–36°C, making computer screens glare and desk work impossible.
In sub-zero winter mornings, standard 2kW electric convector heaters take 45–60 minutes to reach a tolerable temperature, while consuming costly peak-rate electricity.
Why a Reversible Split Heat Pump is the Superior Solution
1. Instant Heating & Cooling in 1 Unit
One discreet wall unit replaces bulky floor heaters and desk fans. Switch from crisp cooling to rapid 24°C warmth at the press of a button.
2. 75% Lower Running Costs
With an A+++ seasonal COP rating above 4.0, a heat pump produces 4kW of heat for each 1kW of electricity consumed, costing as little as 18p/hour.
3. Essential Humidity Control & Dehumidification
Timber studios are susceptible to condensation and mould on equipment. Built-in dry modes protect computers, gym gear, and music equipment.
4. Smart Wi-Fi Pre-Conditioning
Schedule the studio to heat up 15 minutes before your workday starts via the mobile app, without leaving your house.
Clean Single-Day Installation
Our installations for garden studios are engineered specifically for timber structures. We mount the indoor unit securely to internal timber studs, run insulated refrigerant lines with UV-resistant external architectural trunking along the discreet rear elevation, and mount the condenser on a ground slab with anti-vibration feet to prevent structural resonance.
